Fatal Car Accident Claims the Life of Tennessee Woman
A Tennessee woman recently lost her life after a serious multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 51. Her husband was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries suffered in the car accident. The force of the collision caused the woman to be ejected from the vehicle. Three vehicles were involved in the accident.
The deceased and her husband were driving when their Jeep was struck from behind by a GMC truck. Both of the vehicles were moving at the time of the collision, and the force of the impact caused the driver of the Jeep to lose control, moving into the lane of oncoming traffic. At this point, the woman was ejected from the vehicle, and she was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lane. The driver of this vehicle is thought to have left the scene of the accident.
After the Jeep came to a stop, it was hit by another vehicle. This driver remained at the scene of the accident, and all three drivers on the scene were tested for possible impairment. It is not thought that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, but it is possible that distraction, speeding or driver error caused the crash. The tragic accident is still under investigation.
When a Tennessee driver or passenger is killed due to the negligence of another party, it is possible for remaining family members to seek financial compensation. An investigation of the incident can determine what caused the fatal car accident and identify what legal options are available. Compensation cannot undo the damage that has been done, but it can go a long way toward helping a family move forward during their time of grief.
